Cosplay is based on two paradox design principles by combining organic shapes with a grid-based structure. Cosplay was drawn from scratch with loose references to Lazybones by Letraset Studio (1972), Cooper Nouveau by Dave West / Dave Foster and typography spawned by rave culture — resulting in an eclectic, single weight graphic typeface. It offers Stylistic Alternates, Discretionary Ligatures and Swashes which can be individually controlled via variable font technology. With its rigid design the “Swashes” feature oscillates between classical swash shapes and an underline / line above function.
